Corumbene: Its time to vote!

Posted on 15 February, 2024 in Aged Care

The time has finally come for you to vote on your Enterprise Agreement. The ballot opens today Thursday 15 February and will close at 5pm Thursday 29 February. Your employer should have provided information about how to vote through SurveyMonkey. If not, you can contact Julie Purves from Human Resources.

Out of our collective bargaining efforts, we’ve secured improved conditions to your agreement plus the guarantee of backpay from 1 July 2023. The backpay will hit your accounts once the Fair Work Commission (FWC) approves your agreement.

Here are the conditions you’ve locked in for general staff and nurses:

General staff wage offer – 3%, 3.5% and 3.5% for the first, second and third year
Nurses wage offer – 4%, 4.5% and 5% for the first, second and third year
Backpay from 1 July 2023
Sunday penalties increased to 200%
Public holiday penalties increased to 250%
Mentor/buddy allowance – Senior staff mentoring or buddying new employees will get a $1 per hour allowance
6 weeks of paid parental leave for general staff (to be paid after you return to work)
10 days of paid Family & Domestic Violence Leave
2 days of non-accruing leave for both reproductive health and pregnancy loss
3 days of non-accruing special leave for pandemic-related situations
Lactation & express break – Ensuring employees’ ability to take breaks for lactation and expressing milk, without compromising resident care

It pays to be a union member. If you know of any colleagues who aren’t yet a HACSU member, now’s the time to join!

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email [email protected] or complete our online contact form
