Good news: servery workers to remain at SCC

Posted on 24 August, 2023 in Aged Care

We’ve got some good news: Southern Cross Care have finally confirmed to HACSU that they’ll maintain the vital Service Attendant role across all homes after our long campaign to keep them – not that it should’ve been on the table in the first place.

To all the servery workers, your hard work is highly valued and deeply appreciated by residents and your colleagues alike. Now it’s time your contributions are acknowledged and respected by your employer as well.

This win just proves that we’re stronger together – and when we stay united and speak up for what’s right, we can force your employer to do the right thing too. And always remember, our community stands firmly beside us.

Congratulations on all your work throughout this campaign – we couldn’t have done it without HACSU members standing up and speaking out.

Please keep up the good work and keep believing that we can make meaningful changes to your workplace and the broader aged care sector.

If you ever need help or advice, we’re here to support you – just give us a call via HACSUassist.
