Mary Ogilvy: agreement up, but we still need to hear from you!

Posted on 24 October, 2023 in Aged Care

68% of employees have voted yes to Mary Ogilvy’s proposed agreement. This means your new agreement has been voted up with the majority supporting it.

Thanks to all our strong and dedicated members, we secured a 5.75% pay increase for 1 July 2023, 3.50% for 1 July 2024 and 3.50% for 1 July 2025 or Fair Work minimum wage increases (whichever is higher).

Fortunately, due to the determination of HACSU members in voting “no” to the first agreement, we’ve forced Mary Ogilvy to continue to recognise paid meal breaks as time worked for the purpose of calculating overtime.

We believe that the current agreement still provides for this, and we are currently in dispute with Mary Ogilvy in cases where they’ve reduced overtime payments as they claim paid meal breaks should not count towards total hours.

Now, we want to hear from you

If you have worked close to or over 76 hours in a fortnight, it is likely Mary Ogilvy would have unfairly reduced the overtime payments that you were entitled to. Please email [email protected] and register your interest in being part of the dispute if you have worked such hours

We will work to resolve this issue and hold Mary Ogilvy accountable for any underpayments. If you know any colleagues who are not yet HACSU members, you can encourage them to join so we can include them in our claim.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email [email protected] or complete our online contact form
