It’s been a long wait since the new Anglicare agreement was lodged with the Fair Work Commission. Around 200,220 minutes to be precise.

The good news is the agreement has now been approved, and new entitlements and conditions came into effect on Tuesday 14 April 2026.

Here’s what this means for Anglicare workers:

Wage increases:
• 3% or the Fair Work increase (whichever is greater) - effective from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026 and 1 July 2027

Sleepover shift increases:
• Sunday to Thursday: $94.57
• Friday to Saturday: $141.48

Broken shift allowances (Disability and Home Care workers):
• 2 periods of work with 1 unpaid break: $20.82
• 3 periods of work with 2 unpaid breaks: $27.56

This outcome reflects the persistence and patience of members throughout the process.

A strong union means workers stand together, and together, we win better pay, conditions, and respect.
