Union win: Health Minister commits to rolling back RHH Chief Executive's spending cuts

Public Sector

You would know that for some time, we have been raising significant concerns around the fact that the new Chief Executive of the RHH has put in place a change of protocol that has resulted in basics like Milo, icy poles, and even stationery becoming that much more difficult to order.

Your concerns have even been elevated to Parliament, where Independent Member for Franklin David O’Byrne raised questions around why the CE has put in place a system that has resulted in it taking days for a patient or staff member to receive something as simple as a bottle of water.

On Monday, HACSU’s new president, Lauren Vanier, and HACSU State Secretary Robbie Moore met with the Health Minister Jacquie Petrusma to discuss this and a range of other issues plaguing our health system.

During this meeting, Minister Petrusma provided a commitment that the previous ordering process would be reinstated due to your pressure.

Well done on raising your voice to force this win, and please let us know if the RHH is slow to the chase in reinstating the old system.
