Public sector nurses bargaining update #3

Posted on 6 May, 2026

Nursing

We had our third bargaining meeting earlier this week to progress negotiations on a new enterprise agreement for nurses and midwives in the Tasmanian public sector.

While the meeting was largely around another union’s log of claims, your HACSU bargaining reps, including Bianca, Ben and Diny, were able to speak to a range of issues affecting nurses to the government’s negotiators.  This included the frequency with which nurses are experiencing pay errors and issues associated with not backfilling leave, which, of course, only adds to already extreme workloads.

As the negotiations progress, your bargaining team urges you to remain up to date with the latest bargaining news by reading your emails and following our HACSU socials. Your power is staying informed, talking union with your fellow nurses and being organised to take action when the time comes.
