We received news yesterday that all bargaining meetings have been cancelled for all public sector bargains this week!
Instead of sitting down with your bargaining teams and working through the problems you’re facing every day, we have a government continuing to treat you with a complete lack of respect.
Workers aren’t asking for the world – their asking for respect from their employer, recognition for the work that they do, safe working conditions and to be properly remunerated for this. You’re even putting the solutions to the problems that you face day in, day out right down in front of them, yet they are continuing on with the circus of the last 6 months of negotiations and treating the public service with absolute contempt.
The problems you’re facing aren’t isolated, workers across the public sector are constantly being pushed by the state government to do more with less. Workers are facing burnout at record rates across the public service while simply trying to keep services that are vital to our community going.
On the back of this, we’re organising a snap action at the Executive Building in Hobart at 15 Murray Street this Thursday 28 August at 12pm.
Come along and let the decision makers of government know that you’ve had enough with their inaction. Let them know that you’ll stand up for yourself, for your patients and for the Tasmanian community.
