TasIVF agreement voted up

Health Services Industry

We’ve now received the results of the TasIVF agreement vote, and the majority have voted yes.

Of the 41 that voted, 29 of you supported the new agreement.

While we know it was not everything that we asked for, we made some good progress in terms of getting closer to closing the mainland wage gap, winning a 0.8% sign on bonus, improving conditions such as delegates rights and personal leave for scientists, and in getting a clearer classification structure for admin and support services. There’s no doubt that your action was a large part of winning this, well done!

Now the agreement has been voted up, it will go to the Fair Work Commission who run their own processes to make sure it passes the better off overall test (BOOT). After they’re satisfied, the agreement is then registered and there’s a 7-day waiting period after the date of registration for when your new entitlements kick in.

After the 7-day period, backpay should be paid in the full pay period on or after this.

If you’ve got questions about any of the new entitlements or want to catch up about anything else going on at work, please feel free to get in touch with us on 1300 880 032 or on [email protected]
