Calvary's improved workload clause: too little, too late

Posted on 12 October, 2023 in Health Services Industry

We want to applaud all of you who participated in our recent protected industrial action ballot. You overwhelmingly endorsed taking industrial action, but unfortunately the total votes fell short of the required threshold.

We met with Calvary’s high-paid corporate negotiators following this to progress talks on your agreement. While Calvary made a commitment to revising their workload clause to exclusively refer to nurses according to WHpPD guidelines, it’s still not up to snuff and Calvary is still cheating you out of a fair wage rise.

Because Calvary has refused to give you a better deal, we believe you shouldn't settle for less either. We encourage you to vote NO to Calvary’s substandard agreement that we think they will put out soon.

We also encourage you to not work unreasonable overtime, as you are under no obligation to work excessive overtime for a company that does not truly value you.
For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email [email protected] or complete our online contact form
