Membership terms & conditions

The Health and Community Services Union is registered under the Fair Work Act (2009) as the Health Services Union Tasmania Branch.

 

By applying to become a member of the Health and Community Services Union (the union or HACSU), I hereby:

 

  1. Declare that by becoming a member of HACSU, I appoint the union as my representative, including bargaining representative, under the Fair Work Act (2009).
  2. Appoint the union as my agent for the purpose of giving and acceptance of notices in respect of Malpractice Liability and Legal Benefits Insurance in accordance with the Insurance Contracts Act (1094) and its Regulations. I also undertake to report circumstances or claims made against me as soon as possible to the union.

    (Applicable to nurses, health professionals, ambulance officers and personal carers only.)
  3. Give consent for the union to receive updated information from my employer/s regarding my employment details.
  4. Acknowledge that if I wish to resign my membership for reasons other than leaving the health and community services sector, two weeks’ notice writing, addressed and delivered to the union secretary, is required otherwise two weeks’ contributions in lieu of notice will fall due.
