Today we wrote to your new CEO about Southern Cross Care’s management of Yaraandoo.

We told her how disappointed we are with management’s unnecessary, excessive and heavy handed approach over the last few months to the management of the facility, particularly in light of what you have already endured as a result of the Royal Commission investigations.

Yaraandoo management have called more staff in for disciplinary meetings and given more final warnings due to situations out of staff members’ control like workload and under staffing than any other Southern Cross Care facility.

We have voiced our concerns to Robyn in relation to staff not only struggling physically with the workload due to under staffing but also that many staff are struggling emotionally due to the way the facility has been run.

With the recent isolation of a resident due to contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, now more than ever it is important that staff be supported by Southern Cross Care management, that every shift is fully staffed, that staff feel safe with the PPE they have been provided and that the endless disciplinary meetings and final warnings as a result of staff trying to do the best they can stop.

Thanks for all your do for our community, now more than ever.
