Workers have heard that Yaraandoo didn’t renew the contract with the local pharmacy that's nearby and normally supplies residents’ medications, and has instead contracted a pharmacy in Hobart - almost five hours away.
We contacted Mark recently hoping he can clarify if this information is accurate and, if so, what’s the reasoning behind it or if it’s just a rumour and the local pharmacy still has the gig.
We told Mark workers are concerned about a longer turnaround for the delivery of medications due to the distance to the Hobart pharmacy.
Disappointedly, even though we’ve written to Mark several times to seek clarification, we’ve heard nothing back.
If you're concerned about this issue, maybe you can poke your head into the main office and find out the information, as Mark always has an open-door policy and the question is not about an industrial issue. Perhaps he'd rather pass the information on to staff directly.
