We’re aware that your Managing Director Natasha Chadwick recently sent an email to staff saying that she didn’t intend to participate in negotiations for a new enterprise agreement at this time.
Your current Wynyard Care Agreement expired on 30 June 2021, and the House Companions Agreement expired on 1 February 2019, but you will remain under the conditions set out in this agreement until a new one comes into play at some stage down the track.
The choice of whether to bargain or not isn't just in Natasha’s hands - staff also get to decide, and if you want it to proceed that’s what HACSU will make happen.
After going out and chatting to staff we’ve heard about workers’ thoughts on the prolonged process from the last round of bargaining, and HACSU members have decided they are happy to forgo bargaining at this time.
So we’ve written to Natasha and told her that we’re comfortable with her position to not bargain at this stage and that we welcomed her commitment to ensuring wage increases for workers. We also said to her that we look forward to negotiations in the future when bargaining inevitably becomes an active consideration from our members.
