We met with UAW yesterday to continue bargaining on your new workplace agreement.

While they have slightly increased the wages offer for the last year of the agreement by a miserly 0.25%, this still doesn’t keep up with the cost of living.

With increases to the cost of living going up daily and inflation at 8.6%, an offer of 1.5% in October and 1.5% every 6 months until September 2024 would probably take your already basic wages down to below the legal minimum as they will not keep up with annual award rate increases. This offer shows UAW are totally out of touch and have no respect for the workers.

UAW are still determined to slash your paid meal breaks despite the fact you stopped them from doing this less than 12 months ago.

Again, your HACSU negotiating team made it clear that this offer is unacceptable and that you will not put up with this.

We have demanded that the next bargaining agreement meeting be face-to-face. UAW have committed to getting back to us mid next week with their decision.
