Umina Park needs to meet roster requirements in the future

We wrote to management last week and told them that workers had contacted HACSU to let us know that rosters for the following week had not been put up, and in fact, the roster hadn’t been put up for three weeks.

We told management that the delay in releasing a roster is not only frustrating for those trying to plan their lives, but it’s also a breach of the current OneCare general staff agreement, which clearly says: “The roster will be based on a 28-day cycle and will be displayed at least two weeks prior to the commencing date of the first working period in any roster.”

HR, Natalie Nielson, wrote back two hours later, saying:

The roster up to the 6th November has just been released and will be accessible in the next ten minutes. Tomorrow we will review the weeks post 7th Nov and released those asap and well in advance of the EA requirements. 

Natalie said the reason behind the delay was because:

Our FT rostering clerk resigned from Umina, and we have been busy supporting/training staff.  We are also introducing a new model where our sites will have more backup for rostering that will assist in the future too.

Hopefully this reminder will see Umina Park meet roster requirements in the future, but if this does not happen and you do not have a roster displayed at least two weeks before the start of the working period, please contact us.
