OneCare’s response to aggressive resident management.

In November last year we met with your Facility Manager, Jan Williams and HR, Natalie Neilson, about workers’ concerns around an aggressive client residing in the Court. We wrote to Jan and Natalie again recently to tell them that workers at Umina Park had reported that the resident’s behaviour was still an issue, and they would like to know what plans have been put in place to protect both the resident and staff.

Jan has now written back saying that OneCare have undertaken actions to address the issue.

It is important to continue to fill in incident reports anytime you feel unsafe with a resident, and no matter what you’ve been told, always remember that being mentally, verbally or physically abused is NOT part of your job. It is up to your employer to ensure you have a safe working environment and leave work in the same state that you arrive in.

Continue to document any health and safety issues at your workplace, and if you have more concerns, please contact HACSUassist.
