Your HACSU delegates and bargaining representatives strongly encourage you to vote YES to industrial action so we can stand up to UAW and take real action to improve your wages and conditions at work.

You should’ve received information from CiVS on Monday last week regarding the voting process for our industrial action ballot. The ballot is open now so it’s important that you get your vote in as soon as you can.

Please don’t feel intimidated by the threats from Uniting AgeWell about docking your wages if you take legal industrial action. It’s your right to take action. If there are serious threats made about not paying you your full wages whilst taking industrial action, HACSU will fight in the Fair Work Commission and stop UAW from trying to undermine your workplace bans.

The reality is that while UAW might try these tricks in other states, no Tasmanian aged care provider has successfully deducted wages for partial work bans and we will go to the Fair Work Commission to ensure they won’t be able to do it.

We know that UAW are using scare tactics to try and stop you taking industrial action. But now is the time to stay united and show them we’re serious. If we stand together and vote for protected industrial action, we can fight for you and make real change together.

The ballot closes this Thursday so please vote today. We will update you with the results of ballot after it closes, but between now and then make sure you urge your colleagues to vote YES to take action. Together we can win this.
