UAW to stop changes...

For now.

After UAW decided to ignore your vote by issuing new paid break letters, we told them we would have no choice but to take them to court. Then last night Gen Toop, General Manager of People and Culture, wrote to us and said they will stop the new buy-outs and continue to pay meal breaks and meet with us ASAP if we hold off on the court action.

While we know from recent experience that UAW can say one thing and do another, we’ll meet with them early next week to see if they are really fair dinkum about fixing the many issues with how they are dealing with paid breaks.

Remember, it’s UAW that wanted to take your breaks away and UAW that continue to make promises they can’t keep. If they won’t fix things, then it looks like we may need a court date yet.

In the meantime, if you are aware of any issues with your paid breaks that you haven’t passed on, please let us know ASAP.
