Disappointing answers.

We had the first bargaining meeting with UAW for your new workplace agreement last week.

At this preliminary meeting, we said clearly that workers could not afford to take a pay cut or have any of their current conditions cut, but UAW’s response was that they “couldn’t say,” and when asked again, they said they “didn’t know”. It was disappointing that UAW couldn’t be transparent and answer a straightforward question when they would surely already know what they are planning.

HACSU has agreed to provide your endorsed log of claims to UAW by 13 September, so keep an eye out for an update about the upcoming meetings for you to sign off on your claims for the agreement and be sure to get involved. If you have any questions, please call HACSUassist on 1300 880 032.
