Finally, word from Anglicare

Last week we wrote to Chris Jones to say that several members at Curraghmore had contacted us as they were very disappointed they hadn’t heard anything directly from Anglicare about the future of Curraghmore and their employment.

We told him that apart from HACSU’s communications members feel they’ve been left in the dark and that Anglicare has forgotten about them.

Chris has since emailed staff at Curraghmore to say:

“Thankyou for your ongoing work supporting people living at Curraghmore. As you are aware the transition of how support is funded continues with significant delays due to the requirements of the NDIS. We continue to work with the Department to ensure there is continuing support. I met with the Department on Monday and further conversations will be happening over the coming days. Curraghmore will continue to operate as it is until we have details of NDIS funding for individuals. I understand there is a team meeting on the 16th and I will arrange a further update at that meeting. We will also keep HACSU in the loop.”

Hopefully this is the start of regular communications from Anglicare as things unfold in relation to the funding.

As usual HACSU will continue to let you know what’s going as soon as we hear about it, but if you have any further concerns regarding the matter, please give HACSUassist a call.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
