Your workplace agreement is clear that your sleepover shifts consist of 8 hours, but several workers at St Michaels told us recently that in the past they’ve been rostered to do several sleepovers of up to 9 hours.
If this happened to you, you should be entitled to backpay for the extra time worked.
If you currently do or have ever been rostered to do sleepovers for longer than 8 hours, please let us know via HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or assist@hacsu.org.au so we can look into it.
We often go to work and trust what we are being paid is correct, but sometimes employers can make mistakes that may never get corrected unless we ask the questions.
If you are doing sleepovers for more than 8 hours, let us ask the questions for you.
