We’re making some headway.

Your HACSU bargaining team met with management yesterday to progress your EBA.
 
It was a fruitful meeting where we reached in principle agreement on a range of your claims:

  • We have secured a 3-year agreement
  • There is a proposal for the ordinary hours to be Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm, and everything outside that would be overtime
  • We made headway on the Working with Vulnerable People cards and renewals

Unfortunately, St John’s would not commit to extending the personal leave to 20 days or providing gifted leave over the Christmas and New Year break. And the big question remains to be the wage offer – we still don’t have one. But the devil is always in the detail, so we’ve asked for a new draft agreement that includes the agreed changes, the updates we requested to modernise some definitions and clauses, a workload clause, and the wage offer. We’ll update you after we get the new draft.
