St Giles camps

We have heard there are some concerns with the expectations put on staff who support children at St Giles children’s camps.

While some of these issues may be put on hold given the new COVID-19 announcements, they still need to be addressed.

In particular, there are issues with short staffing and the times when staff aren’t replaced, leaving them to work unpaid until the next shift comes on. We understand that staff are sometimes expected to do a sleepover followed by a day shift, and then do the 5-11pm shift unpaid until the next staff member comes to relieve them.

This is not on. If you work, you should be paid.

If you’re one of the staff who work at camp, we would love to hear from you.
