Workers fought back against SCC's attack on conditions

The results from the Southern Cross Care enterprise agreement ballot are in.

Out of 1140 eligible voters, only 533 voted. There were 434 yes votes and 99 no votes.

This is hardly a resounding result and shows the dissatisfaction with the 3% wage offer, but the yes vote carried and this means a new agreement has been voted up.

Workers should still feel proud because they've fought back against SCC’s attack on conditions and won!

The agreement will now be forwarded to the Fair Work Commission for review. If the Commission don’t believe the majority of employees covered by the agreement will be better off, they’ll make recommendations for improvements.

We'll keep you updated on the Commission’s decision. If you have any questions, contact us via HACSUassist on 1300 880 032.
