Any of this ring a bell?

Today we wrote to Anglicare CEO Chris Jones about highly concerning allegations of serious underpayments and breaches of the staff agreement.

Following reports from members, we put the following allegations to Anglicare:

  • Anglicare not paying, or paying incorrectly, overtime meal allowance to staff
  • Anglicare exploiting casuals working regular rosters so they can easily drop ‘problematic’ workers
  • Anglicare not properly paying for lunch breaks at the Youthcare shelter
  • Anglicare not giving people enough breaks between shifts, in particular broken shifts, resulting in them sleeping in cars or driving huge distances out-of-pocket
  • Anglicare trying to avoid paying first aid allowance

These allegations are serious, and they must be addressed.

We've sought an urgent meeting with Anglicare and will keep members updated about their response.

If any of this rings a bell, or might impact you, we need to hear your story. Please get in touch asap.
