Can you support SCC workers in their stop work action this week?
After underpaying staff by at least $6 million, including paying less than the legal minimum rate, and slashing hundreds of hours in kitchen rosters in several facilities across the state, SCC now wants to take away workers’ paid meal breaks too.
The most sanctioned provider in Tasmania will put residents at risk because fewer staff would be available to support them during meal times.
Staff are left with no choice but to take industrial action to get SCC to listen.
As a union, we stand together and support each other – that’s how we win - so if you’re not working on Wednesday and would love to support your colleagues in aged care, please come along and join our stop work action at SCC’s Mount Esk and the Rivulet sites.
Wednesday 23 March: 2.30-3.30pm, the entrance of Mount Esk, 38 Station Road, St Leonards
Friday 25 March: 2.30-3.30pm, the entrance of the Rivulet, 14 Gore Street, South Hobart
Please also support SCC workers by leaving a message here.
Your support would mean a lot for aged care workers and the residents who depend on them.
We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
