They refuse to change their position

We met with SCC management last Friday in an attempt to stop them from pushing through the cuts to hours in the serveries at Fairway Rise, Sandown Apartments, Guilford Young Grove and Rosary Gardens.

Unfortunately, SCC didn’t change their position and said the cuts are only on hold before the Fair Work Commission hearing scheduled for 12 January, so now it will depend on who the FWC sides with.

It’s disappointing that SCC keep ignoring the issues that have been raised time and time again and continue to claim what they are proposing is an industry standard and works well in other facilities. We know it is unworkable and unsafe, and you can’t get a better service by cutting hours to already understaffed facilities and expecting already overworked staff to do more.

We'll update you once the FWC hands down their ruling. If you have any questions, please call HACSUassist on 1300 880 032.
