Do you remember when, after years of sitting on their widespread underpayment of millions of dollars in wages, SCC said they were going to fix it and pay you back ASAP? You may also remember when they said they would not backdate it properly, only to change their minds after we insisted.
Then they told you – after all that – that it will all be paid and sorted by the end of the first quarter of 2022 (ie by today). But, surprise surprise, when we were in the Fair Work Commission yesterday, they’ve moved the goal posts again. Not only will the report now only be finalised in April, but they won’t be able to pay you back until late April at the very earliest.
We told the Commission that SCC have a duty to explain these matters to you in full and disclose the progress of the underpayment as required by your agreement. We’ve made SCC commit to finalise the pay by 19 April, and the Commission has agreed you are entitled to be represented by HACSU when discussing this with your employer.
If Southern Cross Care move the goal posts again, we’ll be back in the Commission to continue the fight. We’ll keep up the pressure and make sure you get back the money owed to you. If you have any questions, please get in touch with HACSUassist.
