The Board says CEO is A-OK.

After issuing a petition in support of herself and largely dismissing staff and resident care concerns, SCC’s CEO has won the Board’s backing … for now.

We contacted the Board after Southern Cross’ outrageous petition standover tactics were reported to us.

This came after weeks of increasingly concerning allegations being made against the CEO and her leadership.

The Chair of the Board has responded and our take, in summary, is that they think she’s giving it a fair old crack.

Moreover, they said that we weren’t really concerned about the CEO’s conduct, and we were really only contacting them because the cuts to workers’ pay and conditions are on the table in bargaining.

In fact, they didn’t respond to the petition issue at all.

You can read the Board’s full response here.

With allegations mounting, Executive staff leaving in droves and residents up in arms – the walls appear to be closing in on the CEO.

We need to keep the pressure up to make sure SCC are held accountable for their conduct, so we will be holding member meetings across the state this month to do just that.

Keep an eye out for an update and please let us know of anything interesting you hear in the meantime.
