Delaying the vote on your new agreement.

It’s now months since we agreed in principle on SCC’s new offer and lifted industrial action in good faith. You may wonder where we’re at with your new agreement.

SCC called a meeting today claiming the major issue for delaying the vote on your new agreement being they cannot calculate backpay before 28 November 2021. At the meeting, SCC said their payroll system is not able to accurately determine backpay from the first full pay period from July 2021 to 28 November2021, when the new payroll system was put in place.

SCC indicated they still wanted to honour their offer of backpay for this period but would like to look at alternative ways of calculating it.

We’ve made it clear to SCC that any alternative way of calculating this payment must ensure workers are not worse off. SCC committed to getting this modelling and examples to us by the end of the week. Once we receive this information, we’ll analyse their proposal and update you as soon as possible.
