Majority are in favour of the deal.

After sending out a survey, we also contacted many members last week by email, text message or phone to get their views on the 3% wage offer from Southern Cross Care.

After collating the figures, it's clear that a huge majority of union members at SCC are in favour of the deal.

  • Yes         86%
  • No          13%
  • Unsure   1%

We'll now contact SCC management and let them know members have accepted the offer, which is 3% from the first full pay period commencing on 24 February 2020.

This means workers will be entitled to 1% back pay from 24 February, but not the full 3% because they received a 2% increase earlier this year.

Bargaining for members' working conditions will recommence sometime in late October, depending on what's happening with COVID-19.

We’ll keep members informed of the progress.
