Staff raising concerns.

Late last week, workers at Roy Fagan began raising concerns about staffing due to recent COVID cases in the facility. We know that COVID and the regular winter ailments are adding even more strain on an already overburdened system, and we know you’ve gone to extraordinary lengths to care for the most vulnerable people in Tasmania.

We’ve written to your management seeking urgent information on how to ensure safe staffing numbers for each shift across the site and what plans they have to ensure the safety of workers and the clients you care for.

Senior management said the site COVID escalation plans are in place, and they’ve committed to providing more detail to us. Once we have that detail, we will give you an update.

In the meantime, please stay safe, make sure you have the correct PPE, report any issues via the SLRS system and to your delegates and contact HACSUassist if you need support.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
