No mask? Don't clean their space

Today we wrote to your management and told them of the resolution you passed at our meeting last Friday:

HACSU members of Environmental Services advise as from CoB today, 25 Feb 2022, we will not clean offices or workspaces where the occupant of the office refuses to wear the proper PPE. These bans will remain in place until there is a change of official advice from Public Health in regard to PPE in Public Hospitals.’

It’s a shame we’ve had to resort to industrial bans for what should be a very simple fix.

This is a matter of health and safety, and the orders from Public Health are crystal clear - you must wear a mask.

If you get to an office or workspace and the staff member or contractor working there won’t wear a mask, don’t argue with them, just walk away. Don’t clean the space, then advise your supervisor the area wasn’t cleaned because they refused to wear a mask.
