Revised offer on the way

Where we're at.

As you know, we’ve been meeting with the Head of the State Service for the past few days to negotiate a better wages offer for public sector workers after we received a pretty insulting offer a week ago.

We've just got back from today’s meeting, and here's where we're at:

The government will provide unions with a revised wages offer on Monday after 2pm. The government will invite unions to meet over a two-week intensive negotiating period to determine if we're able to settle outstanding conditions matters in our claims.

We'll meet with the head of the State Service again on 23 October to provide a final report on negotiations and what, if anything, they have achieved.

We have no idea what the wages offer will be until we receive that on Monday, but we’ve made it very clear that on several key areas, such as meeting the cost-of-living increases and addressing our recruitment and retention crisis, their last offer didn’t go anywhere near meeting our expectations.

Given the tight timeframes, we’ll hold membership meetings directly after the 23 October report back meeting with the government. Keep an eye out for more updates!
