Recurring pay issues at Multicap

Must be fixed.

We contacted your CEO recently and let him know that workers at Multicap are quite frustrated with the regular errors made with their roster or, more importantly, their wages.

We told Nigel that it would not be an issue if it was a one-off occurrence, but it seems to be happening constantly, and this is not on. There are rules in your staff agreement to deal with issues relating to pay and rosters, and Multicap have an obligation to comply with them.

The other issue we put to them is that some staff find their current payslips difficult to understand, and we suggested they could put out a memo explaining what’s on the payslip.

Multicap has since written back:

"We always hope to get our payroll right but recognize we still have some issues that do occur. Our recommendation is that, for any issue that occurs after a pay period, the affected staff member reaches out to payroll@multicap.com.au with the details of the issue that has occurred. We have a business case that will go to the board of Multicap Tasmania on 28 September which will propose a new HR and Payroll system. We would expect to implement this over the next 6 months and would expect it greatly enhances the employee experience, including many of the issues you have raised."

So if you have any specific issues with your rosters or pay, contact rostering or payroll in the first instance and continue to contact them until your issues are resolved and no longer occur. You can also go directly to the CEO if you feel rostering or payroll are not rectifying the issue. And if you’re not satisfied with their answers, give us a call on 1300 880 032 to chat about it.
