Queen Victoria Care have informed HACSU they identified underpayments and overpayments to staff due to errors made in imputing data into the Anerva payroll system in 2018.
The underpayments (estimated to be $121,000) and overpayments (approximately $181,000 )flow through wages, allowances and superannuation.
We’ve made a representation that QVC should not chase any overpayments because the overpayments that occurred some time ago were through no fault of workers, and pursuing overpayments is likely to result in a loss of goodwill staff may show about being underpaid.
In terms of underpayments, QVC appear committed to back paying affected staff as soon as they make precise calculations. We’ve emphasised the need for this to be done urgently and will work with them to make sure members are paid what is owed to them. It is not anticipated that any repayment will total more than $2000.
QVC have indicated that backpay will not affect EBA negotiations or QVC’s wage offer.
