A Tasmanian aged care provider has decided, without any real consultation, to implement a new household model which will see the role of ENs no longer exist.
Understandably ENs working at other aged care facilities have become concerned that their facilities may do the same.
To reassure their ENs, OneCare have held meetings and put out a statement to their nursing staff to tell them that their role is valuable to the company and the residents they care for.
OneCare have said that they have no intention of removing the EN position.
HACSU commends OneCare for coming out quickly with their position to alleviate the fears of not just ENs but the whole nursing team.
We will continue to fight on behalf of all workers at every aged care facility to have their roles recognised.
If you are concerned about your position, in whatever role you undertake, please call HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 to have a chat.
