Nurses draft agreement due this week.

Here's a quick update on what's been going on behind the scenes with your new nurses' agreement.

We were meant to meet OneCare earlier in the year, but they cancelled at the last minute. They have since promised us a draft new agreement which is due to arrive this week.

They haven’t committed to dropping the cuts, so we’ll have to wait to see the details, but so far the big-ticket items are:

  • A 2-year agreement with 2.5% wage increases on 1 January and 1 July 2021. However, they haven’t committed to full back pay, despite continuing to cause delays in negotiation. That means you may not get back pay from 30 June 2020 (when your agreement expired) to 1 January 2021.
  • Increases to some allowances (preceptor and in-charge) and public holiday loading.
  • 3 days of study leave and 2 days of exceptional leave.

Once the draft arrives we will be able to tell if there is any devil in the details.

We'll keep you in the loop. If you have any questions in the meanwhile, please contact us on 1300 880 032.
