Now that Housekeeping staff are at the point of returning to work, NWRH reveals it wants them to work alongside the so called ‘special clean team’, and many members have called HACSU worried about the difference in pay rates.
We share their concerns because returning to work as per normal is one thing, but with the pandemic and the hospital closure this is a whole different kettle of fish, so we’ve written to the northern head of THS putting their case forward.
Given the circumstances, members clearly deserve more, and we’ve called on THS to exercise discretion where possible and increase the pay-rate.
We reminded them about the qualifications of those who’d been hired and also of the infection control cleaners who are paid differently at other hospitals.
While the big bosses are busy we’ve asked them to address it ASAP given staff are scheduled to return to work.
