THS still unclear about F&E jobs.

We’ve heard a suggestion HACSU’s responsible for roles not being filled within the F&E department of the NWRH - this couldn’t be further from the truth!

As we said in our last bulletin, we told management we knew a number of positions have been unfilled for an extended period of time, and THS has known about them since the day they became vacant - in response we were told they’d just had approval to bring in labour hire to fill the positions, which immediately flew a red flag for us and we acted accordingly by putting in a dispute and requesting an urgent meeting that members know has already occurred.

We’re committed to ensuring THS continues to directly employ people rather than use labour hire, and in no way is this stopping any progressions or appointments for staff already employed within the THS, and anybody who says otherwise is either not being truthful or has no idea what they’re talking about.

We’re all aware of the ridiculously extended process THS has for filling vacant positions and a fortnight ago we asked for this to be expedited given the workload situations, but we’ve had no response so far.

If your manager tells you HACSU is holding up the filling of positions, simply ask them how this is being done – everyone knows HACSU has always stood for maintaining and creating jobs now and into the future, not preventing them.

Keep up the good work, we’ll update you as things progress.
