Proposal presented, awaiting response

Firstly, we want to thank everyone who attended Tuesday’s meeting with management.

We presented and spoke to a draft proposal that would see the attendant team potentially rotate on a set roster for DEM in an attempt to stop the introduction of Patient Support Officers. As this wasn’t the direction Maxine and Hayley envisioned the meeting going, they requested time to look over the proposal and provide feedback.

Today we wrote Hayley and Maxine to clarify our position and the outcome of Tuesday’s meeting, those being;

  • We guarantee that the attendants will be able to fill a rotating roster in the DEM (with adjusted manning).
  • The attendants are open to discussions regarding coverage of duties listed in the statement of duties for a patient support officer (only while working in DEM).
  • We have requested a 3 month trial period to give the opportunity for us to show that the proposal can operate effectively.

Again, thank you for your attendance and unity in fighting for your rights. You are the only group of attendants throughout the state to fight against the inclusion of patient support officers, lets keep it going and keep up the fight.
