We thank and commend North West nurses for their fantastic, selfless work in Tasmania's ground zero of the pandemic.
After last weeks appalling weather conditions we received calls regarding the lack of protective clothing being provided for the nurse on the front line who are conducting COVID-19 tests at the East Devonport and Parkside sites - and this includes gear for wet weather and exposure they needed considering where they'd been stationed.
After hearing of this we contacted THS to raise members' concerns and, after discussions, it's been established that heated jackets will be provided for those working in the COVID-19 testing tents, and these should be received this week.
We also addressed the matter of suitable waterproof foot wear, which THS will look at on a case-by-case basis as requirements may vary between the sites given recent changes.
If there are any further issues, please don't hesitate to contact us.
