Nutrition and Dietetics: More delays on your annual leave

It's time to up to think about our next steps

As you’d know, the department still haven’t recredited your annual leave from the Christmas closedown period over December.

This is despite you and your colleagues taking action to make sure that those days were gifted to you when you negotiated your new agreement last year. Now it’s been over a month since management promised those leave days would be recredited – it’s not good enough.

Annual leave is a hard-fought workplace right and as it stands, management are unfairly dragging their feet on giving those leave days back to you.

This means that at present, you can’t ask for time off using those three leave days you should rightfully have. This is especially important in the lead up to Easter when many of you may need additional time off to visit family or head interstate, and an extra day or two can make a huge difference.

Management must get serious and just give you that leave back, you’ve waited long enough. It’s not right to make one group of workers wait around to have their leave recredited – especially when workers in other areas of health have already had it processed.

We’ll be getting in touch with you soon to talk about what steps we can take from here to make sure that your conditions are being respected.
