We’ve been hearing from NWSS workers about dire short-staffing in the organisation.
While short-staffing is unfortunately nothing new at NWSS, we’ve had concerning reports of people working three active shifts back-to-back – that means a 24-hour shift or longer.
This is obviously not on. Not only do workers get fatigued, but NWSS should also know it opens them up to huge liability if something goes wrong.
We’ve contacted NWSS to get it straight from the horse’s mouth, but we also need to hear from you to help us put a stop to threats to your workplace health and safety.
Have you worked 24-hour shifts? What were the circumstances? Please let us know by emailing assist@hacsu.org.au or calling 1300 880 032. All your information will be kept anonymous.
