Things have been moving fast at NWPH and we know this is causing people a lot of anxiety.

We talked to Keith Cock last night and wanted to give you some important updates as to where we sit at this moment:

  • The Federal and State Governments have now in effect ‘guaranteed’ the hospital’s viability for the initial response to the pandemic – this is good news!
  • For most general staff, your rostered shifts are as listed for now. Kitchen, cleaning and admin staff may be working a little bit differently, however, given you won’t be working across wards anymore. Admin will be staying put in the admin area.
  • Theatre will be working from home (sort of) for the next little while. When you’re rostered on you will need to be available to come in at the drop of a hat, but not necessarily actually be in the building.
  • Nursing staff in maternity won’t see much of a change but Bass (with so many people already in isolation) will be closed. For those on mental health ward you’ll be working from home too doing follow-ups for now.

Obviously things are moving very quickly so this is the advice for now.

If you’re a little bit uncertain about where you should be, err on the side of caution and contact your manager.
