Staff at Multicap told us they had recently completed a Cert 3 with Avidity and paid for the course out of their own pocket.
While it’s fantastic to gain more knowledge and upskill yourself and it’s okay you pay for that, it can seem a little unfair if you do that and then your employer say they will put other people through the same certificate you’ve just completed for free.
We wrote to your CEO, Nigel, and asked if Multicap could reimburse staff members who went through the Cert 3 training at their own expense. Nigel wrote to Avidity to seek clarity on the payment of fees for those doing the Cert 3 training, and here’s Avidity’s response:
"All training for learners who are not enrolled in a traineeship is full subsidised by the Department of State Growth, Tasmania. Therefore we do not charge any fees for training. Traineeship gap fees are payable by the employer at the point of enrolment but again, this does not leave the learner out of pocket."
So if you have recently done a Cert 3 with Avidity and paid a fee to do so, you can check in with the Multicap office to see if you are eligible for reimbursement. If you’re not satisfied with their answers, please give HACSUassist a call to chat about it.
