4 weeks’ notice and consultation are a must.

We recently wrote to your CEO, Nigel Hill, and told him that several workers at the Emily properties had contacted us about the timeframe around some recent roster changes.

While workers understand that roster changes can occur from time to time, your employer must give four weeks’ notice and consult with staff who will be affected before rolling out the changes as required by the MEA - the agreement you're working under. Nigel has replied:

"I have asked the rostering team and was advised that all staff were happy with the proposed changes and the for the changes to roll out. Of course there are a number of casual positions in that roster and those are not subject to the same requirements as casual employees."

Nigel has also offered to discuss with individual workers about any changes they’re unhappy with. Alternatively, you can contact HACSUassist to talk about your particular concerns. Remember proper consultation and four weeks’ notice should always happen prior to any major roster changes. If this is not the case at your workplace, please let us know.
