This email was about the intention to apply the Respect agreement to all Mt St Vincent staff - this has been a while coming and we’ve been trying to address the related issues at bargaining.
It’s now clear that as part of what is called a transfer of business they want to get rid of the MSV agreement, and Respect have done this a number of times before when they’ve bought new facilities.
We've been trying to get some of the key conditions at MSV either put in the new agreement for all or kept in place for MSV staff specifically, but Respect haven’t been too keen on that approach so far.
They've spelled out why they reckon staff would be better off overall under Respect, but in the past we’ve pointed to some key differences and things we’d like to keep.
The question is whether members think they’ve missed anything.
The disadvantage to night shift staff is definitely a biggie but we want to know about any big-ticket items that Respect may not have put under the microscope, so we look forward to hearing from members.
