Mosaic EBA variation

Vote to open next week.

You may be aware that Mosaic are trying to vary your current enterprise agreement and reduce your annual pay increase because they are “making a substantial loss”. Despite their claim that they will need to go into administration if they don’t slash their wage costs, we are very sceptical that making staff bear the brunt in the middle of a cost of living crisis is the only option.

We’ve offered to give Mosaic better advice than cuts to pay rises if they provide more information about their current financial circumstances, but they haven’t done so and have only come back to us now to say that this is the only proposal. But we can guarantee you that they cannot pay you less than the minimum rate of pay in the SCHADS Award.

The EBA access period has started on 16 May for you to view the proposed variations, and voting will open from 8am on 24 May and closes at 2pm on 27 May. We’ll update you if we have more information prior to the vote.

If their proposed variations to your EBA are voted up, it will allow them to carry your current EBA over for 12 months with the variations. Bargaining will then start in November this year for a brand new 2023 Mosaic Enterprise Agreement. If it is voted down, we’ll work through our next steps and keep you in the loop.
