Yesterday we met with senior Health managers to discuss the many issues workers have raised with us about the disastrous COVID payment rollout. You might remember we had so many concerns with the COVID agreement that we did not agree to be signatories to it.
We will be asking Health to respond individually to each of the issues HACSU members have raised with us and we’ve been told that payroll are still assessing a number of outstanding claims.
If you haven’t already let us know about any issue you’ve had with the COVID payment, please let us know as soon as you can so we can get an answer about your particular circumstance.
We’ve said all along that the onerous administration around the payment is likely to outweigh any money saved by trying to restrict some workers’ eligibility to it in the first place.
We have also raised issues around Christmas shutdown. We’ve been told that Health are reviewing any annual leave taken over those days and recrediting leave for day workers in services that were closed or reduced.
We still have a real concern that a lot of you will never be eligible for the closedown days, but we’ll keep pursuing the entitlement for everyone.
We know that a lot of workers have raised issues about Christmas leave but if you have a concern and haven’t let us know already, please get in touch.
